Food & Luncheon Club

Millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of surplus fresh food is thrown away every day. No one should have to miss a meal. ARCC runs a unique project to alleviate food poverty in a holistic way.

Residents come to socialise and collect a bag of shopping. This project is in partnership with FareShare and The Felix Project who provide nutritious food that cannot be sold by supermarkets and shops. They deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.

The aim is to support low-income families and pensioners on a weekly basis for a nominal fee offering them groceries and hot meals.

Members benefit from talking with others in similar situations, making new friends and finding out about other services in the area. Quite often people will present with multiple issues and barriers, we work with them to refer and signpost them to the right support.

  • Access a bag of groceries for £3.50, providing nutritious essentials at an affordable price

  • Enjoy freshly prepared hot meals for £3.50, offering hearty and satisfying options

  • Hot drinks and snacks are provided

  • Benefit from regular health checks conducted every 2nd Tuesday of the month

  • Participate in focus groups, awareness sessions, workshop and activities from time to time.

  • Opportunity to engage in social interactions, make new friendships and connections.
