Community Hub

Community Hubs, set up in each of Croydon’s six localities, will provide more local and accessible pathways for people into social support networks, community-led activities and specialist voluntary and statutory services.

They are located in existing Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) venues that are known and accessible to local residents and are open regularly on a set day and time. Residents are encouraged to ‘drop-in’ to Community Hubs as part of the early intervention, preventative approach being used across the localities.

Residents are offered the opportunity to speak to different members of the Community Hub team to establish a person’s talents, strengths and what and who is important to them as well as exploring the person’s community connections. Residents are supported to identify their own outcomes and Action Plans are developed to achieve these outcomes.

Over time, further Community Hubs will be set up in each of the localities so that the different communities within the locality, each with their own unique characteristics, will be more effectively served by a Hub that is even ‘closer to home’.
