Expert Patients Programme

The Expert Patients Programme (EPP) is a free course for anyone living with 1, or more, long-term health condition in Croydon.

The 6-week course is designed to boost your health and wellbeing, find solutions to common problems and help you feel more confident to manage your condition.

EPP has also been shown to support people taking their first steps to tackle obesity, we include this as a long-term health condition as it can lead to a number of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions, such as, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, etc. Obesity can also affect your quality of life and lead to psychological problems, such as depression and low self-esteem.

EPP complements the care and support you already receive from healthcare professionals and will make you aware of other services and resources available in your area.

  • Weekly sessions cover a range of topics including:

    • Managing stress

    • Planning for the future

    • Communicating with family, friends and health care professionals

    • Finding other health services in the community

    • Managing symptoms
